Does your child need a little boost with learning Dutch?
Feeling shy or insecure can make it hard for kids to make new friends. But when they gain confidence in speaking Dutch, they’ll feel more at home and settle in faster. Flowently offers fun, personalized support through private sessions for children and group courses in collaboration with schools.
Private Dutch Sessions for Kids
After an online intake with the parents, we’ll assess your child’s situatioxn and needs, then propose a tailor-made program. Our friendly tutor connects with your child’s world in a playful, gentle way — helping them improve their Dutch step by step.
Sessions can take place online or in the comfort of your own home. For the best results, we recommend two sessions per week.
- Live sessions: minimum of 1 hour
- Online sessions: from 30 minutes
At-Home Sessions
For younger children, we introduce Aapje Jaapje, Monkey Jaapje, a cheerful Dutch-speaking monkey who makes learning fun. For older children, we use age-appropriate textbooks. Learning might also include small outings — like a trip to the playground (to meet other kids), buying an ice cream, or even visiting a library or museum. Parents may be asked to provide simple materials like a ball, books, or toys — all used with care and only with your permission.
Flowently Kids Club: Group Courses
Is your child attending a Dutch-speaking or bilingual school? Are they already learning Dutch but could use some extra support? In collaboration with schools, Flowently offers 10-week ‘Learning through Play’ courses — twice a week, 1 hour per session, for small groups of 8 to 10 kids. A great social and educational boost alongside their regular schoolwork!
Program Highlights
In a warm, interactive environment, our enthusiastic tutor helps children grow their confidence in speaking Dutch. Using role play, games, and creative activities, kids learn to express themselves more freely — whether at school, in the neighborhood, at the sports club, or the local shop.
Each week focuses on a fun new theme. Kids also get “playful homework” to do together with their family. As part of the program, they’ll make their own Dutch-speaking hand puppet and create a personal Dutch book filled with drawings, words, photos and more.
