Born on November 5, 1964, in Amstelveen, Netherlands, Famke Janssen grew up with a love for literature and the arts. In the 1980s, she moved to the United States, where she studied literature at Columbia University while also working as a model for Chanel.
Breaking into Hollywood
Janssen transitioned to acting in the early 1990s, landing her first major role in the film Fathers & Sons (1992). However, she rose to international fame in 1995 as the unforgettable Xenia Onatopp in the James Bond film Golden Eye.
